Ive had my Nikon d80 body about 4 months now i bought it second hand, its been more than good for the last 4 months until this morning when i got it out of my camera bag to shoot some pictures of the snow. The dial at the front, that controls the aperture on the camera body has just stopped working completely, i have tried everything possible to do with settings and still no luck. The aperture still works on the camera, so it has to be the dial that is broken. When i turn it the camera does not pick up anything atall and has no reaction to it what so ever, i nor the previous owner have had this problem with the camera before.
Does anyone know whether this is a common problem with Nikon D80 bodys or is mine just some freak accident, any help with be appreciated. Ive been told by a friend who is better educated in the camera world than me that if it is a common problem Nikon are more likely to fix it for a cheaper price or even for free, because i do not have the warrenty slip.
thanks for reading, any help appreciated
