Ok successfully installed new hard drive and xp home to my old laptop which seems to work
But the wireless network to connect to the internet which used to work now doesn't.
The laptop has a sticker on it which says intel pro/wireless 2100(802) 11b wlan
I am now at a loss as to what to do to connect this to the internet (that's a lot of to's)
Any thoughts will be very appreciated

hi there,,, you need to plug in the ethernet cable........... use this for you internet connection, then update the drivers for your wireless adapter.

if you struggle....

plug in the cable, install crossloop, and i can remote into your pc and do this for you.....' !!!!

Looks like the drivers for the card haven't been installed. They may not be on the standard XP install disk. Do you have any additional disks that came with the computer. You may find them on one of those.

Failing that you may be able to download them from the original manufacturers web site, or another location provided you can get onto the internet, via another computer.Hopefully your hub and laptop sport Ethernet ports so you can connect via that method.
