help with teleconverter (400d)

im looking to get a tele converter to use with my 400d and sigma 70-300mm lens, I dont know much about cameras but my friend lent me a sigma apo tele converter 2x dg but i couldn't make this fit is there some sort of adaptor you can buy or am i looking at a different converter if one fits at all? thanks for any help chris

As admirable said, not all lenses are compatible. Without repeating ourselves, there's numbers of thread on this topic, especially over the last week, use the TP search facility.

I wouldn't waste you money on trying to put a TC on that lens. My recommendation would be look at buying a longer zoom or prime lens.
