i am at the point of pulling my hair out this bloomin internet has had me going round in circles ... i have to do a research report on portrait photographers for college i need to show photos and give info on how they were taken can anyone point me in the right direction ....i have found some photos but cant get technical info to go with them ...if anyone has ever found this kind of information about how the great studio portraits by famous photographers were taken ie the lighting set up , lens used etc i would be most grateful ...i have a funny feeling it would be quicker to go to a book shop than sit here frustrated i am this far away from chucking the monitor out the window

Don't know if this tells you the set up of shots, or if you have checked out this site previously, but masters-of-photography.com is a great info site, and one I used alot when researching specific photographers.

You will probably be better off going to a library. If there is an art or photography college in your area, they are a great source of info, and the good thing is that you don't have to be studying there to use the library :)

Hope this helps!

Go down to your local smiths, borders, newsagents etc and pick up a couple of magazines. Also what kind of portraits are you looking for?
