Hi  I currently have an ols Hannimex flash gun and have two questions i need help with. :shrug:I plan to get a Nikon SB600 as I have already been made aware of the flash voltage problem using older flashes on DSLRs. But I was going to buy a little gadget to reduce voltage when i saw this on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk:80/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110246877383&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123 It claims to operate any flash on any camera when both have hotshoe wirelessly. Now firstly has anyone had experiance with this type of thing and secondly as my old flash would now be remotely triggered off camera would the voltage problem still be an issue. I am aware of the the wireless capabilities of the SB600 but just trying to not waste a perfectly good flash gun, want to use both.

I don't exactly know the answer to your question, but this might help. First look for the trigger voltage of your hanimex flash gun here

There are 3 types of those triggers you mention on . The V1 (old version) V2 (PT-04) and V2s (latest version).

I can only talk about the V2s version as I own one. According to Gadget Infinity the V2s are for flash with trigger voltage of 12V or less.

If your hanimex has trigger voltage of 12V or less, then you can use that version.
Otherwise you can ask gadget Infinity of which one will work with your flash. They are an eBay seller as well. I recommend them for their descriptions on their listings are well written.

The answer to your second question will be no, if you use the correct receiver.

Many thanks for the info, I have sent them an email, unfortunately i cant verify the voltage for the Hannimex as its not listed on the site you linked, (Have been there before) I have a Pz4200 and there is nothing anywhere about its voltage, and Hannimex are no longer around to ask. Lets see what Gadget Infinity say. Thanks again.

Update have ordered transmitter and two recievers V2s versions will wait too see how they act and whether it will operate my old Hannimex Pz Flash and SB600 together. Thanks again for all the help.

I've just received a generic Chinese wireless flash set-up, one transceiver (RF-04) and three receivers (PT-04). I've only had chance for the very briefest of tests but they seem to work fine with my old Nikon SB-20 and and even older Minolta Auto 360.
