Edit My Images
Yes
I have a laptop running windows vista and have Elements 10 installed on it. I have never had any problems editing or organising my photos until today. Granted, I havent used PSE10 or uploaded any images onto my computer for a while but today I cannot upload any!

I initially plugged my camera in, and windows asked me what I would like to do with the images, so i clicked on import and then the little box came up but it didnt do anything else.

I then put my SD card into my card reader and plugged it into the laptop but the laptop again froze when I tried to open the images.

I opened PSE10 and figured I would add my images through the organizer there but it kept returning to the previous screen after selecting 'get images from camera/card reader' and wouldnt upload the photos.

This is very frustrating as I had planned to edit some photos for Christmas cards today.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I am not sure if the problem is my laptop or PSE10??

Be careful of removing the card when the camera/reader is powered up.
Format the card in camera after successfully backing up from it.
Use good quality cards.
Have several cards and rotate them in use.

Also you may be able to use a data recovery programme to recover your photos from the card.

Thanks Gramps....It was a Sandisk Pro 16gb so not the cheapest which is another reason wy am miffed!
I think I did remove the card whilst still in use as my laptop went funny so its my fault. I tried a SD card recovery program but it couldnt recognise the card.

Thanks for your reply though.

Have you tried Photo Rescue?

http://www.datarescue.com/photorescue/v3/

It's got a good reputation in the photo world...
