I'm wondering if anybody could help me with processing I seem to be having major problems since moving to a dslr and shooting in raw

Heres a raw file link if anybody has the time to process it and let me know what you did I'd be grateful (I use photoshop)

Thanks Jack

I'm not expert and have only just ventured into processing raw files but had a quick go anyway. Looks like you need to clean your lens and sensor as there is some visible marks at the top of the image.

Thanks for that what did you do?

I've noticed the marks! just had a look at the sensor I can't see any dust on it

I'm seriously thinking of going back to my bridge camera :(

Added a little saturation, created 2 curve layers, brightening the foreground for one and darkening the sky for the other and a little sharpening.

(In CS3 Adobe Camera Raw):

Bit of sharpening
Temp: 6150
Tint: -7
Exposure: +0.55
Recovery: 0
Fill: 44
Blacks: 41
Brightness: +50
Contrast: -12

Might not be to your taste but it's my attempt :) Less contrast and a bit softer tones

RE: the sensor - get a swab kit and just give it a good clean. Dead simple to do, takes a minute or two. :)

Thanks Pat & Johnsy

much appreciated

ps I was getting myself in a panic about the dust, I think I'll try a blower 1st how often do these need cleaning as it was professionaly cleaned just before I got it I've only used it 3 times ?

Cheers Jack

Just checking but the sensor is behind the mirror which you have to lock up in order to clean the sensor.

Is that what you did?

I locked the mirror up and had a look at the sensor I couldn't see any obvious dust, there must be some there with it showing on the pics

how i did it

Thanks Chaz :)

Any details of what you did ?

The biggest thing I would do is remove the haze from the hills

This is a very quick and crude attempt, not adjusted anything else apart from the haze, this is done in the levels, adjust the red, then green & blue channels to adjust.

Do a search for removing haze from landscapes for some good tutorials.
