Hi all, I have started to get a few enquiries with portraits, one is for a friend of a friend who would like some pics of her, her 7 year old son and her 70 year old mum who is in a wheelchair. It's just a normal one not a motorised one.

Would you leave her in the chair or get her to sit on a 'normal' chair?

Can you reccomend any posing ideas that would beneficial (by this I mean she can't stand so all images would be with her sat down)

Thanks in advance, any advice welcome.

Phil.

Personally I would try to find out beforehand which she would prefer, maybe by a chat with her daughter. It may backfire if you try to impose your feelings on her - just my gut feeling.

ig get her to sit in a normal armchair if i were you, wheelchairs are not the most photogenic things are they

This was my thinking, thanks.

very shiny, hard to light
a nice arm chair might be perfect and comfy
As above, thanks for the input.

What does the Granny want? Does she want to be photographed in her chair or on a normal chair? Ultimately that's the biggest factor - make the client happy and comfortable.

If she opts for the wheelchair, have her/whoever is assisting her, position the wheelchair like any other chair and rock on! Don't be scared of it.

Thanks Nat, it's not being scared, more like the limitiations it can bring. You're right in the asking what she wants, I was looking more for others advice and experience in this situation and hopefully some posing ideas that would compliment the family.

Thanks for the input ;)
