Hello
Our daughter wants to try film, we currently have two 350d canons, so I bought a 650 film camera on a whim for £1 from Ebay.
Are they any good? should I have bought something else?
Were does it fit if we had a list of canon film cameras top spec to bottom?

I used to sell EOS 650 brand new, they were/are great cameras. For the time they were at the Pro end of the Canon range but back in those days the models changed even quicker than they do to day.

So long as it is all working then for £1 I think you have a good body.

First use of film:- Poundland for 24 or 36exp Agfa vista, then Asda superstore (if they do film near to you) scanned to CD with a separate index for £3 in about 30 mins while you shop..usually weekdays only cos they are busy weekends (h'mm maybe not this time of the year).

Amazing. I had a colleague who bought an EOS 650 when they first appeared at the same time as I had a Minolta 7000. It was quite expensive for the time: he invested heavily in lenses and then a safari holiday so it would actually get some use instead of being stored in his mum's house in Beckenham. ;)

It probably seems simple to use now, but back then he'd often have the camera in one hand and the manual in the other.

I have a 630, love it! It's ugly and plastic but has quite some heft to it.

Now my next question can I use the flash guns from our digital cameras?
Bit miffed really as I had two EF lenses, thought I wouldn't need them so sold them cheap now I need one! also had a lovely Metz flash sold it for £15 as its wasn't any good for digital!

The flash from your digi will be safe to use, I don't know how much they can talk to each other as the digital will to the flash.
