i have got a CANON Remote control RC-1 for my canon 350d. i turn the infer red on and then thats as far as i get - any ideas where the beam needs to go? or what to do from there

Kev

I think you need to set the camera for remote/self timer type of shot, and then just point at the front of the camera.

yep that's about it. Doesn't pick up overly well from behind the camera, the IR sensor is on the grip bit at the side iirc.

To clarify, you need to set it to self timer/remote and the sensor is indeed to the right hand side of the front of the camera inside the protruding grip. On the remote you have settings for shooting immediately or with a 2 second delay (the black slidey button)

HTH

Rob ;)

so as i gather - this is the button i press to activate the Infer Red -

Nearly! You've got the right button but the sensor is just to the right of what you have circled (the misty white circle). You'll see it flash when you press the remote

I found the remote really usefull for getting shots of me pointing the remote at the camera :D

Pretty sure that's not right. He's got the sensor spot on and according to the manual, the misty white circle is the "red-eye reduction/self timer lamp".

what he said, its just a light. You were right the first time

yup right first time!

I guess there is a first for everything Kev!

I take it this means we are going to try some night driving shots with the remote?
