I have entered a few competitions at my local club with prints I have mounted on card with nicely bevelled cut outs. I have been securing the prints with masking tape but my prints are now starting to come away from the mounts.

What would you recommend taping and securing my prints with please?

Many thanks.

Rob

Get '3M Scotch Tape' not the cheapo stuff from Wilkinson's

I Use this...

PH7-70 Hinging Tape

http://www.stix2.co.uk/ then under Tapes and Hinging tape (sorry direct link did not work)

It is designed for the job and is acid free.

You can get it at HobbyCraft or buy direct.

I submit loads of prints and use photo mount spray adhesive to fix to the backing board and then use photo quality (acid free) double sided tape to fix the bevelled mount to the backing board so the print is permanently sandwiched between the 2 layers. :)

Many thanks for your advice, I will need to invest in some new tape I think!!

I use surgical tape.

I used to use spray adhesive, but now I'm cutting costs, I use cheap tape so the print can be removed and the frame can be reused. Of course the ones that get good marks are left mounted, but I don't get many of them. Plus I'm running out of room to store all these large mounted prints.
