Help with Mac colour settings

Hi everyone!
I need to ask for some help with my Mac settings that will allow me to send off my images with colour that should come back as i see them on screen.
I know about callibration and have used my Syder 3 but prints still come back way too dark.
To help give you the idea I tried this image using the printers own colour profile but it did the same way too dark so i never bothered placing an order yet until i get it right.
Any help would be super if you have time.

Hi Cathy,

What version of OSX are you using? I havex an issue with Maverics and the Spyder3Pro. Data Color have said that Spyder3Pro is not supported on Mavericks.

Are you using the latest version of Spyder3pro software which is 4.07?

When I emailed Data Color they said that Spyder3Pro is not supported and gave me a code to get 20% off Spyder4pro. I have not had a chance to look into the issue any further as I am wating for a friend to lend me his i1 display to see if I have an issue with my monitor or the calibrator.
 
Just downloaded the latest version and waiting for it to work.
That is not great news so I may have to look at other options.
Thank you for this help I may just remove it and go back to my macs display settings for now
 
Kev I think it actually is better since using the update for Spyder3 Pro as my images look a little lighter now than before so fingers crossed.
