Help with Jessops lights meter please

Hi,

I recently purchased one of these with no instructions (the jessops version)

Does anyone have any instruction on how to use it fully ?

I want to take a reading for high key when the studio lights fire

I think you'll find that's a light meter not a flash meter.

I was thinking that too, looks like it only does ambient light and no good for flash?

Ah so ive bought the wront thing ?

I know nothing about light meters - when would you use this....just outdoors working in manual mode ?

So a flash meter takes a reading when then flash fires ?

Its a never ending learning curve photography...

I think for flash you need something more like this.

for flash work it needs to do incident/reflected

That's a light meter only. Doesn't do flash. I have the same one I think marketed as a jessops cds. I probably have the instructions somewhere.

Seikonic are well thought of as flash meters from what I remember.
