Help with gig shots

Hi,

Looking for some help on post processing gigs. I took my camera along to shoot a friends band last night. Hower as if never done gig photogrpahy I've never thought about the processing.

Would anyone in the know be able to fire a few pointers my way?

I've put a couple of examples of my processing so far below.

Speak with the band see what they like, they may like Black and White?
Try duplicating a layer and making it black and white, then raise the contrast a little, and make that layer "Overlay", adjust the opacity then to your preferences.
This creates a nice edgy contrast bands might like.

I prefer clean processing with enhanced lighting, also (I can't stress this more)... use an OFF-SHOE-CORD! Makes a massive massive difference!

sorry i wasn't explaining myself (I am pretty useless), what I was meaning to ask is where do you put the flash off camera? Just on stage or something? Or do you use a bracket or stand?

Sorry for sounding dumb, its a very new area to me. Thanks for the help so far :)

I used to do a lot of gig work back in the 70s and 80s. I avoided flash like the plague; I don't like the results it gives, it kills the stage lighting and it distracts or annoys performers. These days there's usually enough light on stage and modern cameras give good results in low light conditions.
