Hi,
I’m just looking for a bit of advice and quite worried at the same time,
Went out with the Camera earlier ( D7500 ) and after turning it on I realised that the Aperture F stops didn’t show on either screens,
The AF motor didn’t work and I have tried disconnecting the lens and re attaching it but still won’t work,
I can’t select aperture and the AF won’t work, it seems like it’s dead to me,
It was working perfectly the other day too,
It’s a Tamron 150-600 G2,
I tried my other lenses and they work fine,
I tried the camera in auto also and still nothing,
Also cleaned the contacts on the lens and body but still nothing,
I have attached a few pics so you can see what it’s shownig,
Any ideas please ?
I purchased from E-Infiniy,
Thank you In advance

Are you able to try on another camera? Are all the switches on the lens fully activated, i.e. not "stuck" between two settings?

Yeah I tried all of the switches John and still no joy,
Afraid I don’t have another camera to try it on,
Most of my friends shoot canon.

I take it you have cleaned the contacts on both lens and body?

maybe revert the camera to default factory setting just in case you messed up with something in the menus?

If it's still in warranty send it back, just a year if I remember correctly. Another thought, is there a camera shop near you that you could take it too for a test on another body?

No camera shops around unfortunately Graham,
Jessops is 50 miles away,
Think I’ll drop the retailer an email see what the suggest

Update,
After trying to clean it again with some isopropyl alcohol on the camera and lens contacts,
The lens is now working perfectly,
I must of missed a crucial bit when cleaning last time,
I was stumped until I went back to it again a day or so later to have another go at cleaning it,
This time it worked,
All is well I’m pleased to say,
Cheers for the input

Glad to hear that it's working.

And it gives us another question to add to the standard list that we ask in this situations:
  • Have you cleaned the contacts?
  • Yes, but have you REALLY cleaned the contacts?

your far better sticking with the nikon lens's as 3rd party are in my opinion are crap
they are not guaranteed to work on any nikon bodies

sell it and buy the nikon 200-500 f5.6 brilliant lens
