I've gone and done it, got my self knee deep in wireless goodies!

I found a cheapo wireless flash trigger on the internet and judging by the amount of people on here saying they use a non OEM set up no problems, i thought i'd take a punt with it.

the details:

The box says: PT Series FM Radio trigger ( Remote trigger for electronic flash)
features:
Operates on Radio frequency 433MHZ
Four channel capability
Shutter Speed 250s
Transmitter includes 23A, 12V battery

Theres 2 recievers, 1 PC Sync cord and 1 transmitter.

I'm using a canon 20d with canon 430 EX 11 Flash gun.

Anyone car to help.offer advice/share experiences.

the only instructions are in (what i assume to be) Chinese!! :help::bang::bang:

Regards
Charlie

sorry team, thought it was technical enough for the technical section, my bad!

how to get the damm thing to fire the flash, off camera. have plugged it all in (what i believe to be) correctly, got the channels the same (just using 1 reciever) and nothing.

The way i had it.

Transmitter on camera and Transmitter indicator lighting up when test bvutton pushed.
Reciever on bottom of 430 ex11, on identical channel, power switch on, new battery's in, no light from reciever signal indicator!
what am i doing wrong?

I take it you have it in your hot shoe and you have your camera set to fire the flash Will it work with teh Test button?
Has the sender got hot shoe conections as I see you say you have a PC lead as well? If its not got hotshow conections then it need to plug in your pc cable can you on the 20D? I see you have a 40D as well that has a PC socket I belive

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah the transmitter is in the hotshoe mount, and the flash in the reciever's hot shoe socket. Sorry for coming across thick as.. but.. what do you mean by this? have your camera set to fire the flash???
no it won't work with the test button.
both the reciever and transmitter have hotshoe connectors.

DOH.. i really can't believe i'm admitting this, BUT.... (drumroll please)
