No
Got a nice one with a shutter that wont fire any ideas?
What was it a copy of?

I don't think its a copy of anything, Seagull is its own marque.

I've seen some sweet pictures taken with a Seagull TLR, but I dunno about its construction.

I think there was some relation with Minolta .......there again I may be suffering old age and getting all confused with summat else :cuckoo::D

Thanks
Just stripped it worked the shutter action looks to be fine now

To be honest it looks well made, from memory the focus was never pin sharp but I did a couple of nice portraits with it.

Make no mistake, Seagulls aren't no tinpot rip off, whilst they my lack a little refinement they're good and solid capable cameras...:)

My thoughts exactly
Its all to easy to get caught up in the new camera wars.
When what we should be doing is taking the best pictures with what we have.
Too many cameras are dismissed as some one often on a forum or magazine chooses to run them down.
I am looking forward to trying my old Yashica A out, its old worthless but I like it and the images it produces

^^THIS attitude^^ is just what the Dr ordered.

I for one shoot with lots of "carp" gear that most photographers wouldn't even bother possessing let alone attempt to use but they all have ( or have had) a place in the history of photography.

Only quite recently someone in the f&c section posted a couple of good shots yet he had evidently been laughed at whilst shooting because he was using a film camera..... some people have no idea or no soul at least. :(

I get the strangest of looks depending what camera i'm using ......there again i get strange looks at the best of times :D

@winchman just don't tell anyone that your "shooting a seagull" ................... you may get carted away and questioned :D (mmmm where's the police smiley gone :suspect: ........ lost in the "tardis" during it's journey from TP1 it seems! :D)

After looking behind the Jaffa? i think not.... If you are going to do something that daft you have to keep it to yourself like i did:D... they'll soon forget i thought he needed help with a bird after you said that:p

Well to me, searching for a blue police light behind a jaffa was perfectly logical ....after all the Mods manage to sneak away behind em for days, even weeks at a time ....except Yv that is who often munches em:p:D ( the jaffas that is , not the other mods :exit: :D)

Thanks
Daughter takes some excellent shots with her 350d.
When I was at college I was lucky and with a load of help from the tutor I took an excellent still life, you could see the disappointment on a blokes face when he asked "did I use a Nikon" no its was an old OM10 and a Miranda lens as its all I could afford.
The Seagulls destined for the shelf although I might throw a film through the Yashica a I have just managed to fix
