Looking for a 'powerhouse' to plug into my tv.
Will need to do the basics such as word, excel, internet etc...
But also handle basic photo editing, gaming (football manager maybe sims, nothing like shoot 'em ups which need to graphic cards.), itunes, 'future proof' (last 3/4 years)

£500 budget.

Have seen this... http://www.ebuyer.com/452098-acer-aspire-xc600-desktop-dt-sljek-016

Thoughts.

Open to all brands except Samsung.

That only has integrated graphics, therefore would be no good for Gaming, or potentially HD movies.

My recommendation would be a home build, you can make a very good machine on a £500 budget, and if you were worried about putting it together, there's tons of resources and guides, plus everyone here to help!

have a look on novatech.co.uk

the i5 onboard graphics should be fine for movies but gaming it will be minimal. £500 is a bit low for gaming really. can you define what sort of games you play?

Football manager, and possibly the sims or somthing like that, I have an xbox for Fifa, Cod etc...

Intel HD4000 will be fine for light gaming. SimCity and Xcom are both fine with settings dialled back a bit on my Lenovo Yoga.

The 6GB memory on that machine is just dumb and symptomatic of cost-cutting vs value. I would look elsewhere tbh.
