Help with a Macbook.

My wifes hard drive in her Macbook pro died yesterday,now i am not worried about the data on the drive and have replaced it with a new one.My problem is installing the new OS system on the new hard drive.
I have installed the OS from the disc that came with the computer (2011) but i cannot get it to link up with her iCloud account.There is also no iPhoto.

you will need to install iPhoto from the disk that came with the machine. if it came pre-installed with no disk you could try the purchases section of the app store?

when you say you cannot link to icloud, what happens?

There is no icon for iCloud.

Have you tried clicking on the apple icon and looking for all the updates?

yup, I would run through all updates. icloud is a fairly recent addition in the scheme of OSX.
