the Sigma 15-30mm f3.5/4.5 Aspherical EX lens, with the rear filters are these any good, i have the 10-20mm which is wicked, but this one seams a Little tamer on the wide, and could be of more use, with structural, buildings and people with out the pointy faces on close up, is this lens considered a good wide angle or do the rear filters cause a problem, also how would you protect the glass at the front.

Regards Mark.

Here's the photozone review for the Canon mount version.. sounds to me as though the distortion on the 10-20 would probably be less than the 15-30 at equal focal lengths

A couple of shots on the first page (seascapes) with this lens, but the back elements seem normal to me ,No filters or owt,the front element sticks right out,but is protected by a built in hood that you can,t take off.
No filters will screw on so you would have to blue tack them on.

PS. lens used on my 35mm film Nikon F2A photomic.
