hello there,i am hoping somebody can help as i am thinking of buying a leitz pradovit p600 slide projector and wonder if you could tell me how long a single slide can be projected continuously for,is there a time limit before it over heats .as i want to use a projector for tracing an image on to a canvas before painting but need the image to stay illuminated for some time.thanks very much in advance to any one that can help and for your time all the best chris ps it does not have to be a p600 but any slide projector in general

Hi Chris,
That is a lovely projector.
I seem to remember that after 30 seconds the slide will "pop", but it will refocus if necessary.(This is a characteristic of most makes/models). As for the length of time you can continuously project for, I don't think that is a problem, as the cooling system is very good, and will cut out before damaging anything.
Also, I think it is possible to get a kit which makes the image brighter at a lower power, but I can't remember the exact details, sorry.
I'm sure you could turn up some info with a google search.
Hope this helps a bit.
Cheers,
Gary.

It all depends on the gate temperature surely as to how long you can project a slide before it degrades?

+1 for the glass mount too.
