I currently have a Nikon D50 with a couple of lenses & want to update and upgrade. I was looking at getting a D3100 but now realise that I will lose the autofocus functions on my existing lenses if I do.

I have approx £400 max to spend.Do I buy a D3100 body & manually focus my lenses for now or buy a better lens for my D50 and wait until I can afford to upgrade toa D90 which will autofocus my existing lenses?

Can't decide- help please!

If it were me and I already had some none af-s lenses that I wanted to keep then I would save the extra for the D90, you will also end up with a better camera body in the long run

Are you looking to buy new John, for £400 if you buy used it opens a couple more options, completed listings on ebay show you can get a D90 for under £400

It's the way to go....I have just sold a lovely D90 with 6k clicks for £375

I would get a D90. They are going for a good price and you will get a better camera in the long run and the results will reflect this.

D90 is they way to go, you would be disapointed with a D3100.
