Hi all

I'm looking to buy a new lens because in the confined space of my studio the 50mm 1.8 doesn't comfortably allow me to take full length shots. I'm mainly going to be doing portraits, fashion, glamour, beauty and family portraits.

I have about 2.5-4 metres depending on which room I use (so its alright for about 3/4 length shots) but I would also like to be able to use this lens outside.

I need to get something wider, but to be honest, I dont know, theres so many wide prime lenses I wouldn't know which to go for. A small zoom lens could also be beneficial, but im loving the quality of the 50mm.

I have an 18-200VR but the distortion is quite annoying at some of wider focal lengths so I dont really want to be using that, plus i'd like to get something faster than f3.5-5.6.

I have around £150-200 budget at the moment.

Any help is appreciated!

As above, have a search for the word 'portrait' and a wealth of information will be available!

In answer to your original question, maybe look at a Nikon 35mm f1/8 or 35mm f/2 lens alternatively a Sigma 30mm f/1.4.
