I have learnt a BIT about computers now and I can 'adjust' photos OK in PhotoShop 7 or FastStone Image Viewer but I am having trouble with uploading JPegs to Snapfish for printing -- my Computer keeps 'running out of Virtual memory' and the uploads fail -- is it because when I 'save' the JPegs I use too high a 'Quality' such as 11 or 12 ? If I 'squash down' the files to quality 6 or 7 to make the Kilobytes smaller will it harm the print quality -- ( I have a 'Gateway' computer with 502 MB RAM ) I had an 'Online Chat' with a bloke on Snapfish and HE didn't know what I meant -- not very helpful !!

Probably.

What size (in pixels) are your images, and what size (in mm/cm) do you want to print? Maybe you need to resize the images before printing.

The usual quoted standard is 300 pixels per inch for printing, so e.g. an 8" x 10" print would need to be 2400 x 3000 pixels then save it at a fairly high level, perhaps about 8.

Steve.

Size is usually just over 3,000 Pixels across (Pentax K10D if run at 10.2 MP, mostly I run it at 6MP though) -- we usually have 6x4" prints with a few 10x8" specials for framing.
