3 quote 5 days to respond to an email so hoping someone on here can help. Currently in Cyprus with my iPhone on 3 PAYG. When I went to USA I bought a pack for the 'at home pack' and used data fine out there. Cyprus is not a country that is supported for that so had intended to use it normally being careful to turn data roaming on and off a lot.

Got here and appear to be on 3g but when i try to check emails it comes up with "Could not activate mobile data network" - "You are not subscribed to a mobile data service" (Cyta Voda is the network which i assume is the 3 partner). Have £17 of credit so that shouldn't be an issue and my account has international turned on. Any ideas?

Settings, cellular, eu internet needs to be "off"....since 3 do not have arp agreement yet so it says on their site anyways....

Did you look at My3 on the website to check that you have data roaming activated on your PAYG account? I think it should be for PAYG by default, but worth checking.

As Richard says I think there's an option for roaming on your account page.

Yes. Is all ok. Worked fine in Florida in May and in Cologne last month with no hassles so must be a Cyprus thing.

They have another roaming partner there. Try hooking onto that one and see what happens.

Not sure about Cyprus but on Crete and Rhodes, the network changes according to which gives coverage in particular areas. All happens automatically and seamlessly (Mrs Nod doesn't notice when she goes from one to another mid-call). Again, not sure about Cyprus but it's not a simple job to get a local SIM card.

Be aware that depending upon where about you are in Cyprus you may pick up a greek signal in parts and a turkish signal in other areas. The rates may differ, so be careful to check the network before accessing data
