I have shot a couple of pictures for ebay so at the moment its not ultra important, but this is now starting to annoy me!!

I have the camera set to take pictures in RAW and it is saving them as CR2 type files which Photoshop does not recognise - does this mean I have got something wong in the cxamera settings, or have I done something stupid as in not set up photoshop properly?

I have tried to open the files both from the camera and from a card reader (as advised when I had a problem a while ago) and neither is working so I am now :bang:

These things are normally me and after a while I work it out, but this time I am stumped!!

CR2 are raw files, not images. Think of them as film that needs to be developed before you get a picture. What you need is some RAW conversion software, Photoshop has a plugin which will do that for you, or your Canon cd also contains software that will work. If you don't like them and don't want to spend money on other software, have a look for Raw Therapee which is quite good.

You load the RAW file into that program and then you can make adjustments to it like changing the exposure a bit or increasing the colour if it needs it, then depending what prog you choose, you either export or save your final image as .jpg (for eBay)

oops, ignore
