i want to start taking one of my cameras and zoom lens to work with me.they will be in my works van most of the time
what is the best way to stop moisture getting into them ??

Camera bag?

Ive taken a camera to work pretty much every day for 10 years and never had an issue!

The issue of condensation can be bringing it into a warm place when it's been outside in the cold. If I've been out shooting and it's been very cold, I bring the camera in my camera bag into the house when I get home and leave it in the closed bag and allow it to come unto room temperature slowly, no condensation on the camera and no problems...
 
I think the greatest danger of having the camera in your van is that someone may decide they fancy removing it. Just check your insurance covers it.

They are pence to buy on eBay. Can only help if you grab a couple of largish ones and tuck them in the bag. Depends how humid your van gets really.

I keep some in my camera bags and also the lens cases when I store them in my house. You never know if the lens has a bit of moisture lurking around when you pack them away.

Notwithstanding the issue of it perhaps being purloined, the condensation matter could be dealt with by putting the camera in a sealable plastic bag. If you bring your camera in from the cold, then condensation will form on the outside of the bag, rather than on the camera. Just make sure that the bag is quite empty of air when you seal it and wait for the whole entity to warm up before you open the bag.

As far as I know, the problem with bags of silica gel is that it's not possible to tell when it's saturated, unlike the loose indicating variety.
