Help Required Re Lightroom 2.3

Hello All, I am having trouble finding a program that is compatible with Lightroom 2.3.
I require software that turns photos into sketches, watercolours and paintings.
Akvis do but is not compatible.
Does anyone know of anything on the market that might fit the bill other than Akvis Sketch?
Any advice would be gratefully received.

How is it not compatible? You can link any image editing software to Lightroom, although it won't necessarily allow you to edit the original RAW files.
 
Photoshop can do it . . . .
 
Thanks for the reply but could you elaborate a bit as i have done a days course on Photoshop Lightroom and no luck with the painting and sketching side. Unless you meant that Photoshop will accept the plug in from Akvis.

I don't think you'll find anything like that as a plug-in for lightroom, LR can export images to some programs for further editing, but I think you'll need photoshop or similar for what you need.

I think you'll have problems using lightroom to do this as you need a pixel editing program which Lightroom is not.

There is an article in this weeks MacUser that has an article of doing something similar. haven't had a chance to read it but you'll need Photoshop/Elements (Gimp?) to do it

Photoshop has a couple of built in plugin effects ( which I can't for the life of me remember the names of at the moment :shrug: ) that can achieve the end product you're looking for. I'm not sure if the effects are part of the Photoshop elements package though. In Lightroom you right click on a thumbnail and select "export to photoshop" . . .
