Yes
can anyone help, i have a hanimex multi dedicated tz325 flash and wondering if its compatable with nikon d80 didnt want to try it in case it fried the d80.

I had some help on this subject and was pointed here which helped enormously.

I've got a D80 & worried about non-oem flashes. Everyone strongly advised against trying anything other than the SB range, so I didn't. My advice would be - if in doubt, don't.

Yes - be aware, using an older flash can fry your camera electronics, so check out the voltages before even thinking of attaching the flash to the hotshoe.

How about using a remote flash trigger so there's no contact twixt flash and camera?

That's a reasonably good idea until you start using a camera which emits a pre-flash (which in the darkside is everything from a D70 onwards). The pre-flash triggers the slaves and so causes the "real" flash exposure to be out of sync with the slaves ~ which have already flashed and are now re-cycling! :suspect:

Yes, triggers work. I use them with my older flash guns. Still, it's nice to have a good compatible flashgun that I can stick on the hotshoe.
