Evening All!
It's a bit of a last minute plan (Hubby suddenly had a couple of spare tickets), I'm going to Silverstone tomorrow!

I've never tried shooting anything moving faster than a toddler across a playground before, so this is going to be a bit of a challenge! I've seen some amazing photos on here of f1 cars, and if I get anything in focus I'll be one happy togger!

I'm sure I've read somewhere that I need to use a 'panning' shot technique (sorry if that's wrong!?) So, does anyone have any good links to tutorials on-line about how to do this??? :help:

Also - for those who have been before - I'm presuming that it's suitable for children? Specifically a 4.5 year old who doesn't mind who wins as long as they're red!!

Thanks
Kristy

Thanks for the quick response Chrissy - I'll check them out!

i was there today, and again tomorrow, however my SLR died on me today :'( -see my thread about it!

p.s good place to get panning shots, is Abbey chicane.... stand at the top of the stand at the back, so you can see the whole chicane over the fence..

i had my camera on F.13, exposure 1/200.. or 1/160 depending on the sun.. hand held and you get that lovely motion blur background!

You guys are brilliant! Thank you so much!

Regarding being child friendly, make sure your little one has earplugs. Renault World Series cars are pretty loud, and they usually have a couple of F1 demos too. Racing cars are very noisy indeed, and he might not be so happy with having his ears assualted with 120 decibel noise.

Thanks for the heads up Richard - hadn't thought about that, but now they're on my list. We haven't told her that she's going tomorrow yet, so I hope she'll enjoy it - she always watches the F1 with Daddy and loves it so we'll wait and see!
