So with uni finally drawing to an end I shall finally have some time to get some time to use my camera, but at the moment I'm only using my backpack bag and need a shoulder bag to make life easy when out.

I usually enjoy spending time researching reviews etc but all my final exams are in less than 2 weeks and I'm after having my new back by the time they are finished so lacking the time to search :(

In the past I borrowed a friends Canon shoulder bag (EG10 I think) which did the job okay, but it could have been a little bigger.... So what do you use and reccomend? I'm open to suggestions on design/material as long as it's protective!

It needs to house

Gripped 40D
24-105
70-200 2.8
10-22
Potentially room for another?!
580EXii
The usual batteries, filters and odd's and ends

Thanks in advance :)

I'd have a look at the think tank gear - retrospective 20 is a great size & doesn't scream 'camera bag!' Unlike the canon one you mention...

Others probably know better bags but I have a nice little Lowepro.... Might be worth a gander.

The Lowepro Stealth Reporter 400 is discounted to £79 at wex just now, could be worth a look ? Not as stylish as the Think Tank retrospective / citywalkers but good value for the capacity.

The Thule Perspektiv might be worth a thought too at around the same price.

Chris, how is the Retrospective for freestanding when the bag is on the floor? It looks a bit unstable compared to a wider bag?

Otherwise I like the look of it!

Its solid, i've never seen it topple or lean a lot either full or with gear taken out of it. I have the 20 & the 30, but the smaller of the two is my favorite as you can fit a large DSLR with a 70-200 or 100-400 etc fitted no problem. You would be amazed at what you can cram in it too - as long as you can handle the weight!

I just got a Think Tank Retrospective 20 to replace my Mirrorless Mover i30.
Think Tank bags are great :)

I have to say the Retrospective is being sold pretty well so far and I have yet to head a negative, aside the price, but it's worth paying to protect your gear!!

Thanks for all the comments so far guys

Feel free to continue making suggestions as I won't be ordering until next week :)

Ok perhaps one negative for the Retrospective 20 is that it has a weight of 1.5kgs which adds a lot of additional weight to my Mirrorless setup.

Total weight with camera gear is between 4-5kgs.
But the bag offers high level of protection and will last years to come.
