I have 2 x yongnuo yn-560 ii flashes and when I remove the batteries after a shoot they are hot and I mean really hot.... So much so the batteries are starting to stick together.

This happens when they are on full power, so can you tell me, is this normal and does anyone elses do this?

Yes, if you give them a hammering on full power the batteries can get too hot to touch.

The danger is some guns without a thermal cut-out, will go on working until they actually fail, leading to expensive repair - often more than the gun cost. Some handbooks have a warning about this, usually with some very conservative estimates of when to stop and give them a rest. Then there are some other guns with a thermal cut-out that sometimes cuts in rather too early, meaning the gun can suddenly shut down after a couple of dozen shots.

Cheers Hoppy, at least I know they are not totally buggered now :-)
