Hey all.

Im going to have a quick go at attempting to create a roadscape tonight with a trail of lights from the cars going by.

A bit like this... Example

I would just like a few hints or tips on how to take a photo like that. What sort of ISO and setting you would need it on.

I have a Nikon D40 just to help people a little.

Cheers in advance
Jordie

Ta much mate.

Will give that a go a bit later on this evening. Wait till about 9ish =] Only 1 hour to go =]

try and do it before the sky goes jet black... and don't forget about composition... let us see the results too!! good luck

Cheers everyone =]

I will struggle a bit with the tripod since I dont have one =\. Shame really. Ne'mind I will try my best.

Even more help =]

Ta much. I will have a look round the street for a barrier or something like that.

And don,t forget to switch on in camera noise reduction.

Set to manual.. as Dave said above.. you just alter exposure time to suit .start around 4 secs and chimp .(have a look at results on display)

And as it gets darker, you will have to allow a bit more time ,but watch for blown out highlights

Thanks Dave... another bit then..
If you have no tripod BUY ONE...........just joshing..

Buy some dried peas, get a old cloth handbag or somat like ,fill with dried peas
and you can rest this on the wall and camera on this.

But cameras are dear,so make sure it,s secure.

Warning..:( Advice given and taken is at owners risk...:suspect:
