Now, I know to some of you this might seem like a really stupid question, but I need your help.

There's a 1D mk iv in the classifieds for sale looking at the specifications of both that and my 7D I am struggling to see the reason for the huge difference in price.

7D 1D
Sensor 1.6. 1.3
Resolution. 18mp 16.1mp
FPS. 8fps. 10fps
Processors: Both dual digic IV

Is it just about the improved autofocus system, weatherproofing and the better handling of ISO?

I hope I'm not being stupid, but I really need something more than that to warrant it being twice the price...

Your explanation and help would be greatly appreciated,

What do you take photographs of.........

The 1D MKIV a great camera and yes it is a serious step up from the 7D, but would you use it?

I'm Dan Rush...

I want to photograph pretty much everything Pete, I love sports photography which I know this camera is great for.

I think I'm going to hold out for a 5d Mkii for Wedding photography though. I reckon there'll be a few popping up on classifieds.

I can't afford a mkiii. But I want a body as backup. I'm getting asked to do more and more things, sporting events, weddings, portaits, Estate agent photos and at a point where my gear needs to be able to match my eye, not only to satisfy my client, but also myself and of course other photographers.
