help please?

ive only had my nikon d3000 for 3 days and im doing pics of my brothers band gigging tonight what mode to put the camera in? i havent a clue anyone help me thnx ?

try aperture priority, and if you can (on that camera )auto iso in the menus. should get you some results hth mike i would also manual focus as the lens may "hunt" in bad light.

thank you i cant put the iso on auto in that mode its set on 800?

I guess this is a little late but if you are totally new to DSLR photography and the camera is new with menus set at factory defaults I'd set the mode dial on "P" and the iso on auto use the zoom at the widest possible setting and hope for the best.

This kind of subject is tricky and requires a bit of background knowledge so don't get disheartened if you don't get good results first time round.
