can anybody help by telling me the difference between a canon 70-300 is usm & a 75-300 is usm ? as i am looking to purchase one second hand and have seen both versions for sale on different forums . Of the two which is the best ? It would be used mainly for bird photography
Just out of interest does any one have any recommendations for any alternative lenses that are worth looking out for , that would be suitable for a canon D10 . Thanks

Lenses ??? I thought the 70-300 was supposed to be a cracking lens? I've had no probs with it anyway?
 
Got the 70-300 IS USM lens for my partner from Kerso and it is a very nice lens given where it fits in range of Canon lenses.

I have seen posts which suggested that the 75-300 is the poorer option; perhaps best to search for these and see if they help.

Will leave recommendations of other alternatives to the experts!
