I was told PSE7 would open the RW2 format by default but it doesn't. I have had to install a plugin for it from the Adobe site. No fee or anything just a pain trying to find it.

thanks whats a plug in?

can i do this with my elements 6?

is it free?

thanks ive had to load winzip which ive done

what do i do know it still wont open in elements when i click on the picture:shrug:

its bewildering me

Didn't realise 4.6 was out theres me putting a link on for 4.5 :bang:

You have to be sure you are unzipping it to the right folder as well. Instructions will be on the download page.

i dont know what unzipping is

ive dowloaded winzip and dng

how do i convert to raw and then put it in elements

take it as you are talking to a 5 year old

it leads me to elements then says it dosent recognise the file

ive read the help but it assumes you know tech speak allready

i realy would appreciate some more help thanks john

Right click on the downloaded patch (the one from Adobe), and select unzip. It will ask you where you want to unzip it to. For the minute select your desktop.

Now the tricky part. Navigate to your Elements instillation. Right click on 'Start' and select 'explore'. It will be something like: C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USER NAME\Elements\Plug-Ins\File Formats
Once you have found this folder look for a file called: Camera Raw.8bi and drag this file somewhere safe like a new folder on your desktop (keep the file formats folder opened. You still need it.

Now click-drag the plugin you downloaded from Adobe in to the file formats file. Close all windows, reboot and it should be done.

Unfortunately that is the easiest way i can put it. It sounds complicated but really it isn't. The hardest part is finding the file formats folder.
