Basically I want to know if there is any recommended software, templates. actions etc to merge about 200 images into 1... so it'll look something like this... but obviously much bigger...

There must be a quick way of taking the images in a folder (all same size) and whacking them into a blank image. Anyone?

I've done similar in the past (with PS CS3) by using the Contact Sheet feature in Photoshop - turn off file names, etc. You just have to be careful about specifying the output dimensions so that it's an exact fit for your grid and leaving a minimal border round each picture (i.e. zero).

In CS4 and CS5 they've moved the functionality into Bridge, though I haven't explored the feature there properly yet.

Picasa will do it

and its free :)

Sorry but it will not work in Photoshop 7, as it does not support user interface components. 7 was the first to support scripting but it was very basic and things have moved on in a big way since then. 7 uses .JS and does not understand .JSX files (extended).
