as the title says ive got my eye on the yongnuo yn568ex ll or the 565 ex ll which is best please im a complete novice to flash will be used on either a my 7d or my 7d mk 2 thanks

I have both and the only benefit of the 568 over the 565 I can tell is the 568's head rotates 180 degrees in both directions where as the 565 has a stopper at 90 degrees when rotating right, its only a mild annoyance when adjusting the flash head between landscape and protrait when bounce flashing.

i find i'm using my 565EXii more and more these days

I think the 568 II has hi speed sync as well which is essential for outdoor flash

I thought that as soon as I posted and Google thanks though

Rather than those 2 have you looked at either the YN685 or YN600. The 685 has all the features of the YN568 but also has built in wireless receivers, that way when you eventually progress to Off Camera Flash all you need is a transmitter for on the camera, this reduces the amount of additional equipment and batteries that is needed

Also check out the shanny flashes, not bad quality. Between the 565 and 568 go for the 568 for HSS.

Yes the YN560TX will control the YN685 and allow remote changing of the settings. The only thing that it wouldn't do is allow the use of ETTL, if you wanted this you would need the YN622CTX

id will only use the yn 685 on its own on the camera for the ttl  i think:thinking: and the other two yn560iv off camera with the yn 685 as an extra off camera flash :thinking::thinking:

I have 2 x YN565 EXII and a Yn568 EXII with YN622C and 622C2X. They work really well and were cheap to buy too. The 568 is my 'walkabout' single flash. They are well made and I have not had a single issue with them. I do not use them enough to have warranted paying for Canon speedlights, but I do not knock the Yongnuos around, no point tempting fate!
