While proudly polishing the screen of my new iMac I notices that there seems be a minute square of dead pixels. Now i can't help but notice it.

The mac is under warranty so does anyone know what my options are and what do i need to say to apple ?

take it into an apple store and show them they will probably replace the display for you.

i had a dead pixel on my iPad so i went to a store and showed them and they brought a new iPad out and gave it to me all i had to do was sign a form.

how many days until the warranty expires? if its more than 90 days they will also usually extend the warranty to a full year again.

and just say that you are a photographer so you thought it best to get a top of the range computer to work with and you would not expect a fault like this on such a new product.

and can i ask how many dead pixels it is? and what size screen?

if it was a single pixel, i doubt you'd notice it. if it's forming something the size of a full stop it'll be a group of the little blighters

That's easy

Get it in to Apple and let them sort it out

thats very good of them considering no panel maker considers dead pixies to be part of the warranty.
Dell do.. The U2410s are guaranteed no dead pixels.

I don't think they'll swap them if you claim you have dead pixies though ;) :D

If you've got alot of them, Apple will sort it. Just take it into a store, and they'll either replace the machine there and then, or get the display done. Either won't take mass's of time.

FYI- Apple warranty is a Year, Plus an extra 2 if you buy Apple Care, the 90 days is for Pro Phone Support only.
