Hi guys I'm new to this!

I was wondering if someone could help me out? I've got a Nikon D3000 and a MeiKe speedlite MK930 flash, I'd like to know the best setting to use for static night shots? To get the best shots possible as I struggle to get good quality shots when I attend car meets o_O

Cheers Ryan

Set your camera on a tripod, set the timer on the camera to go off after 10 seconds. Go to a certain part of the car, press the "test" button on your flash (if you dont have a remote) and light up the car. Do that several times then layer-merge the images so you have effectively "light painted" your car with a flash. Youtube search "lightpainting cars with a flash", there should be some good tutorials about.

If you dont have a tripod, you wont be able to light paint your car and one flash on-camera might be difficult to light up the whole car, as you will have it on full power to say, light up the part of the car that is furthest away, but blowing the hell out of the nearest part of the car to you.

Get a tripod or multiple flashes and 2 remotes, one for the camera and one for one of the flashes. Set the other flashes to slave so when they detect the flash from the one, it sets the other flashes off and you can get it in a couple of shots (if you can only get hold of 2 flashes).

You will be struggling with just 2 bits of kit to be honest, you can do it, but it will be difficult, this is where you have to be inventive with what you have.

Post up some photos, lets see how what you are getting and take it from there.
