Hello everybody. Im wanting some help please

Im currently looking into buying some editing software. most probably cs3. But my question is what is cs3 extended version? and the student edition?

Help would be great

Unless your doing 3D rendering the extra money for the extended version is a waste of time. Save your money and go for the normal version
 
Theres a bit more than just 3d in the extended version, motion graphic editing, and image analysis. That said for most normal photographic use you wont need those features.

the student edition is a full version, just you need to be a student to get it at the student price, its not a slimmed down version for students.
 
So can anybody reccoment the best place to buy cs3 or 4 with the best price?

Also how different is elements compared to cs3/4?
 
Elemement is a "slimmed" down version aimed more at beginners, it's supposed to be easier to use (never used it) but it can do pretty much everything the full version can, but sometimes because some features are missing it can be harder to achieve some effects, although theres usually a work-around of some sort.
 
TBH if you don't know which one is best for you, Elements probably is, as you will find it much easier to pick up the basics (and £400ish is a lot of money to save).

Or if you are really concerned that you think you will need the full power of Photoshop CS4 download the free 30 day trial from Adobe.
