I'm looking to have a go at HDR, I have a RAW image saved on my desktop and need to load this into Photoshop Elements 4 in order to adjust levels.

How do I get a Raw file which is straight from the camera into elements 4??

When I go to open file in photoshop the file I want is shaded out and it won't let me select it! I must be doing something wrong somewhere.....
