Help needed with studio lights + battery packs

Hi all, I need to buy one or two studio lights with portable power for outdoor shoots, but they need to be powerful enough to work in sunshine effectively.

I notice zack arias, joey L etc. use alien bees or profoto and use heads that are 1000w plus.

I was going to buy alien bees, but they dont sell outside the US.

What is the best 1 or 2 head system with portable power to go for?

What would those who use them recommend?

I have been looking at the bowens esprit or the elinchrom style, but they dont seem to have portable power options...

they do the ranger portable pack which looks great, but at 400w is it powerful enough?

I assume that people would rather have the option of the highest power possible to give greater flexability?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am lost in a sea of flashes

Oh, and I have a budget of £2,000 to buy lights, power and some decent modifiers (beauty dish, snoots, grids, octabox etc)

Take a look at the Lencarta Safari, which takes Bowens fit accessories, has 600Ws of power, which is enough to overwhelm the sun, and plenty of battery life. Look at this article by Marc Gouguenheim and this one by Matt Small too.

But they are in very short supply, they've been selling like hot cakes.

Thanks Garry, I have had a good look at the range and accessories and the reviews seem good too. All I have to do is find some for sale now!!!

It's just the flash heads and extension leads that are out of stock, although I don't think the generators will be available from stock for much longer - but SOME new stock of generators, heads & leads should arrive next week.
