Help needed with image

Out in the snow yesterday and got my mojo back. Lying in the snow, I managed to take a few images of our border collie that I quite like. Could you help me with this particular image please? I've got an awful habit of sharpening images to make them ping.
Be honest but not TOO brutal. I'm only a VERY amateur photographer.

I like it a lot and enjoyed your others in the album too. The image you asked about is a tad over exposed so there are a few blown highlights but otherwise I like the processing and the composition.

Thanks for that. I know what I want but don't have the skills in Lightroom and find exposure difficult.

Yes it is over sharpened, but in this case it is not such a bad thing and the effect is quite pleasing....

I love it, I think the strong processing hasn't done it a disfavour.

It's not easy but that can be learnt. Having an eye for an image is more difficult to learn and you've definitely got that. It's also never easy to get the exposure and white balance right when you're shooting in snow.

Great photos of your Collie. As Dunc says the last edit is better for me. It would be good to see how each edit printed out as I believe thinga have to be sharper for print. That is an area I don't know enough about.

Took it in on Friday at a local "printers". Seemed to really know his stuff, gave me a few hints and tips. He's chosen what paper etc and I'm looking forward to the final image. Face to face is much better than on the phone or on line.
