Here's the low down.
Two PC's ...... One Vista and one XP.
Both loaded with PS CS3 and the latest ACR 4.4.1
The XP machine will show the 40D thumbnails, preview, slideshow etc in the Bridge.
The Vista won't.
The first thing I thought of was the Canon RAW Codec Software I installed on the Vista PC after reading this;
http://www.inspiring-photography.com...ighlight=vista
I've uninstalled it but still no joy.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled CS3 but still no good.

Anyone got any idea what the hell's going on. ?

My thumbnails don't appear sometimes in XP Pro, but I have found it happens if I have Bridge open when uploading the photos to my PC. I have tried closing Bridge and then reopening but they still don't appear. The only solution I have found is to open them in CS3 and then save them. The thumbnail appears then, or delete them, close Bridge and reupload them. Another Bug I expect.

Try running update from the CS3 help menu on the Vista machine to ensure you've got the latest updates loaded. It may be that ACR 4.4.1 hasn't initialised properly. using the update route from PS does it all for you.

Thanks for the help, guys.
Much appreciated.

The RAW codec installed is 1.2 and I have just updated PS, Bridge and Version Cue via the update route but to no avail.

In the Bridge I can see thumbnails of my 1D MKII RAW files but not the 40D.
Yet both the 1D and 40D RAW files are visible as thumbnails in Windows Explorer.
Curious. :thinking:
