As you will have noticed i have just started. So my question is in the future i hope to buy a canon 500d or the nikon d5000. But until then i am looking for a camera that will help me on my way to understand all the settings before i spend that sort of money on something that i don't know how to use.
Could anyone recommend something for me to learn some manual settings etc.
such as iso and apature settings.
Sorry for the silly question but i hope to learn and i won't learn if i don't ask.
Thanks for any help.

A fujifilm s9600 has all the manual settings and modes of a DSLR you can get one for around £100 and then if you decide to get a DSLR after that you still have a very nice back up/ walk around camera in reserve

Also marac thankyou you for your advice. All i need to do now is find one for that sort of money. Thanks again.

I must say i am very impressed with this.Thankyou very much.

Good - glad it helps.
Remember that when learning to use manual settings (that's the bestway to get the basics right, IMHO) the principles are the same no matter what camera you use.
