Yes
I have taken a few shots this morning and came to download them to my PC and I am getting errors, in that its telling me there is an I/O error and I can't Copy or Cut the files from my memory card to my PC.
I have rebooted my PC and tried the card download again - No Joy !!
I put the card in my camera and formatted it, then took some more and tried to download them, it downloaded one pic and them stopped with the same error.

Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this and does it mean my card is FUBAR'd and I have to put my hand in my pocket or is there something I haven't tried ?

HELP...... :bang:

P.S. (Just noticed that after it had downloaded the 1 image, leaving 3 on the card, when I put it back in the camera, "No Image" was displayed)
Now I am REALLY confused !!

TBH fella, with memory cards being so cheap now I wouldn't mess around trying to figure out what's wrong or risk losing a load of images.

Get yourself a new card (www.7dayshop.com are usually nice and cheap) and take it from there.

If the problem still exists then the solution may be a little more expensive :gag:

However...... after re-reading your post, you say you're cutting files from the card, have you tried copying them and how much room have you got left on your HDD?

I have tried copying and cutting just to see if it made a difference, same result in each case :(
I have got plenty of Gb left on my pc, I think its looking like a new card

Yeah, sounds like the card and it's the cheapest place to start

Thanks for that - now begins the fun of which one to buy.... :bang:

I have found a local store that stocks the 8GB Kingston CF/8GB-S2 Elite Pro Compact Flash Card x133 for £20 and I can go pick it up today - sounds cheap enough to start with...

I'd pick up a nice 32GB card from 7DayShop.com.

Alternatively I would buy a couple 8GBs or 16GB cards and keep swapping them each time, Then when you put a card back in after copying the files off it, format it in the camera so it syncs with the camera ok.

This should make your cards last longer (and because you are using 2 instead of one, they'll last twice as long, probably).

Just another thing to try before you do the above is use a card reader or try plugging the camera in via USB. See if any of those work

I always use a card reader as I was told that it would be faster to get the images from rather than from my camera, but I have just tried what you suggested and bizarrely the images have now copied to my PC from the camera

Now is thinking ? Card Reader Faulty ?? Urghh this is too much tech for a morning :bonk:

Ah well I saved you £20.. Yeah the card reader may be faster but less goes wrong with USB. Try another card reader (couple pounds) or just keep using the wire.

Glad I could help :)

Try a new card reader. Good advice also is to always use a card reader and not the USB port on the camera. I use the USB port on my camera for tethered shooting only, to minimise the use of the port and to minimise the chance of damage to it.

OK Just been out and bought a new card reader and CF Card from Scan in Bolton, and so far so good, the new reader seems to be reading the card OK, so looks like it could have been the reader, but hey ho, got a new memory card aswell now  all is good  Thanks again for all the great advice !!

Nothing wrong with multiple cards, good to have a backup. Leave it in your bag, you'll be glad the day you leave your shooting card in the PC.
