I am having a new bathroom fitted next week and it's very Victorian, to go with the age and design of my home (Victorian Town House). For wall art ideas, I would love to display my own artwork but don't have anything at all that would suit so I want to take some specially for this project. The idea I have is Victorian Erotica.. nothing rude, just a 'hint' of naughtiness, in sepia.... Kind of 'what the butler saw'. A shoulder, a stocking top, that kind of thing.

I have the props and place to shoot just not the model. I have looked under ModelMayhem but can't find a local person on there that doesn't want a fee. Any ideas where else I can find a model?

Thanks

Facebook> local photographer, MUA & Model groups.

Usually plenty on there :)

What's wrong with paying for a model, I take it the new bathroom isn't free? Lol

paying for a model normally ensures you get what you want. Not paying means you've a minefield of flakes & people who dont show to negotiate. If you can find what you need that is. Try purpleport as well, but be prepared to pay

No its a fortune that's why I can't afford a model......I have done photo work for free for the experience and displayed work for free to have it seen.

I have heard about models who are starting out and do it for their portfolio.

You could always forgo the bidet and free up some wonga :p

Bidets.......do people still use this?

Thanks Dean & Gem. Good advice. My problem is that I don't do portraits so my portfolio to show a model what I can do might not help my cause. I might have to use someone else's artwork.

That is your problem:

A model will shoot TF with someone if they perceive that they will get value from the experience - in their case photos for their portfolio - you cant offer that.

In my experience you should be able to get a good model for about £40 for a couple of hours - is that too much? You could then take the photo you want and then practice other shots - you never know you might like it

Alternatively why not look for a hobby photographer and see if they would be interested in attracting the model to shoot at yours. Model photographers are always looking for places to shoot and a new bathroom - well that might be just the thing?

All of what Brian said, any 'shoot for free' from any direction is a fair exchange. So you can't get a pro photographer to shoot you for free unless you're offering something unique, you can maybe get a model and MUA to collaborate if you're adding great images to their portfolio. But with respect, as a photographer, you have 'nothing tangible to offer', so you might have to be more creative.

Can you entice a photographer, MUA and model to collaborate in your space? You will learn stuff, and get a few free images, the photographer, model and MUA get portfolio material. It'd definitely be more fun than buying artwork.

Pretty much akin to spending thousands on a wedding and expecting to find a free photographer because they are 'starting out'

You can obviously afford 20-40 quid and thats all it would cost so why are you expecting someone to work for free ?

You have the Face, Body, Camera, Lights, the Know How, etc. So set it all up, change into your sexiest underwear, set the Camera and Timer and pose.

Instant result at no cost, what are you waiting for.

Ill let you take a shot of one of my hairy shoulders if you like... :D

Lots of advice here. Thanks. I'm too rotund to model!!!!

Not as rotund as me haha! And I don't wanna see my butt each time I use the bathroom.
