hi all have got the chance of a cobra 700af flash unit with cable link to use off camera. does anyone know if this will work on a sony a 200? if was for a minolta dynax and am not sure if it would be ok

Have a read of this thread where another user had problems with this flashgun. I don't know if they were ever resolved.

Should work in manual mode.

thanks for link and i thought it should work in manual too! it.s just that i was told that it could possibly damage the camera due to the power differences, if any, needed to fire the flash. it is off a minolta dynax but am not sure how different the sony programing is. apart from it being digital of course. any more info would be of great help
